Kathryn Corey teaches middle school science at Cornerstone. She is originally from New Hampshire where she grew up and attended college at the University of New Hampshire. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. She worked for seven years in hospital laboratories doing microbiology and research. She has also co-authored ten publications and/or abstracts and has presented abstracts to the medical community at symposiums and meetings of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the American Society of Microbiology. She has worked in schools here and in New York State, as a teaching assistant and as a science teacher for the past several years. She also completed her master’s degree in Middle School Education at Brenau University. Mrs. Corey and her husband Steve have two adult children, Carolyn and Alex. She and her family enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, and skiing. As members of Perimeter Church for many years, she has served as a Stephen Minister and member of the Prayer Team and her husband Steve serves as a Deacon.
